A data breach is an incident in which an individual who is not authorized to do so views the sensitive, protected, or confidential information of others. In today’s world, we are continually hearing of major corporations where consumer data has been breached; this data can include login information for websites, personal identifying information (such as email address, name, phone number, or physical address), and financial information like debit or credit card numbers and bank account information.
